Searching Historia needs no account. It does not ask for a name, an email address, a student ID, an age or a school, and there is no field in which to give them.
Kept in the student's own browser: sources they keep, their notes, a random session id that counts searches against the free allowance, and their citation style. Clearing browser data clears all of it.
Sent to the server: the text typed in the search box, the random session id, and a one-way hash of the IP address used to limit how fast searches run from one network. The address itself is not stored.
Historia carries no advertising, sells nothing to anyone, builds no profile, and requests no permission against a school account: sign-in is optional, by emailed link, with no identity provider.
